When To Use Reports

Use Reports when you need to:

  • Review database health over a period.
  • Prepare evidence for service reviews.
  • Share findings with operations, development, or customer teams.
  • Compare server status across groups or engines.
  • Turn monitoring data into a repeatable summary.

Report Workflow

  1. Open Reports.
  2. Choose the report type.
  3. Select the engine, server, database, group, or date range where applicable.
  4. Generate the report.
  5. Review warnings, recommendations, and supporting data.
  6. Use links or related pages to investigate problem areas.

Report Data Sources

Reports are based on data collected by connected Mini DBA Engines. If a report is missing data, confirm the engine was connected and monitoring the target server during the time period you selected.

Troubleshooting Reports

  • Check Settings if an engine is disconnected.
  • Check Servers if the target database server is not listed.
  • Check Service Log for collection or persistence errors.
  • Confirm the report date range includes a period where Mini DBA was collecting data.

Report Usage Tips

Reports are strongest when they are part of a regular operational rhythm. Use them before service reviews, after major incidents, before maintenance windows, and after remediation work. This gives teams a consistent way to show what changed and which risks remain.

When sharing a report, include the engine, server group, database platform, date range, and owner. If the report includes recommendations, link the finding back to the relevant console page so the recipient can see the supporting evidence.

Reports FAQ

Why is report data missing?

The selected engine may not have been connected, the server may not have been monitored, or the chosen date range may not include collected data.

Are reports real-time?

Reports are based on collected monitoring history and selected report options. Use live platform pages for current incident triage.

Can reports support managed service reviews?

Yes. Reports are useful for recurring customer reviews, internal DBA checks, and evidence after remediation.
