Use About when:
The About page is often the fastest way to collect support information without searching through configuration files. When contacting support, capture the product version, engine context, license display name, and machine identity value if requested. These details help confirm whether the console and engine are running the expected build.
For licensing issues, compare the About page with Licensing and Settings. If the console is connected to more than one engine, make sure the selected engine is the one you intend to review. License activation and deactivation happen against a connected engine instance, so the engine context matters.
After an upgrade, use About to confirm that the visible version matches the installed package. If the version looks wrong, check Service Log, Web Log, and the installation details before assuming the upgrade failed.
It provides version, license, machine, and engine context that can change how an issue is diagnosed.
Treat machine identity values as support information. Share them only through your normal support channel.
Check the selected engine, then review Licensing and Settings for activation or deactivation options.
